DEPOT DAYS 2005 Every
year, Depot Days seems to grow bigger and better and the crowd sure came out
June 18th 2005 to celebrate Cumberland County's rich heritage!
As
you can see, all of downtown Crossville was filled with folks coming out to see
the great music, wonderful food, and talented vendors on hand to display their
talents.
Many
skilled craftsmen and women came out to display their varied talents.
Knitting, Painting, Woodworking and Glassblowing were just some of the many
booths set up!
There
were many vendors set up as well...among those, Brookview Day Spa
There
was some nice stained glass on hand...
As
a matter of fact, the entire Cumberland County Courthouse Lawn was filled with
booths of all types...
One
of the nice attractions each year is the Elk Lodge's Drug Free Booth and the one
displaying the effects of Meth on the body.
Many
other Featured Attractions draw quite the crowd...such as the Model Railroad at
the Depot
Doc
McConnell's Old Medicine Show
The
Bear Lady with her Chainsaw Carvings...
And
who could forget the Showcars!
There
was also a Rock Wall and a mini-carnival to keep the kids entertained...
The
4th Street Barbeque Bash kept folks full all day long!
Here,
102.5 WOW COUNTRY General Sales Manager Steve Sweeney hits up Big Boys BBQ for a
'little' lunch.
The
CCHS Cheerleaders hit the streets selling Cookies...
Ronni
and Josh took to the streets handing out 102.5 WOW COUNTRY Balloons to the
kiddies...Here Ronni's making a lifelong fan...
All
day folks kept checking out the Big Ole Trucks we'd be giving away later on in
the afternoon!
Lots
of fabulous music kept the crowd entertained all day long...like A Mighty Voice:
The
Amazing Jessica Heaton...
...And
Of Course Harlan Cox...It wouldn't be Depot Days without Jessica and Harlan!

But the time soon came...and it was time for our 102
Qualifiers to sign in!

They get signed in and registered for the drawing...

Each Qualifier put their name into the raffle
cage...

Before we started the Big Ole Truck Reverse
Drawing...the CCHS Cheerleaders came on to perform for the crowd...starting off
with the Freshmen Girls...

Then the Upperclassmen took center stage!

And at 3:00 PM, The Orange Shirts Started gathering
in front of the Dave Kirk Big Stage

Josh Brandon introduces the lovely ladies that will
be drawing out the names...our very own CCHS Cheerleaders...

Some of the Qualifiers are just plain "Pumped
Up"...the rest are Praying...

What A Crowd on hand for the drawing!

Barbara Allen reads the first name drawn out...and
it is...
Steve Powell of Crossville...He won a set of 4 Tires
From Shadden Tire Company!

After whittling down through half of the Qualifiers,
we hit Number 51...and that was Annette Hassler. She won a $50 Gift
Certificate to Kwik Stop Mobil on West Ave.

We get down to the Final 5...where everyone wins
something...

(5th Place) - 2 Sets of
Wireless Headphones from Sam's Satellite
(4th Place) - $100 Gift
Certificate to Unlimited Gifts
(3rd Place) - A year's worth
of oil changes from East Tennessee Dodge
(2nd Place) - $1000 gift
certificate from Beds To Go
It's down to 2
Qualifiers...Monica Sixkiller and Jeanie Whittenburg. When asked earlier
in the day how she felt about her chances, Monica Sixkiller resonded, "How
great would that be? To win Teacher Of The Week...ya know. Now, the
Big Ole Truck...it just makes sense!"
We asked Jeanie Whittenburg
when she signed in if SHE was ready to win the Big Ole Truck and her reply was
"I've come to claim my truck." That's the kind of
confidence you expect from 2 people who have a 50/50 shot at a brand new 2005
Pickup Truck!
Here, Josh is holding up the
name of the 1st Runner Up...the person that will NOT win the Big Ole Truck.

And the winner is...Jeanie Whittenburg!

102.5 WOW COUNTRY went live on air for the Top 5
Drawing...and Jeanie Whittenburg was so thankful to have won the Big Ole
Truck! She gave credit to The Lord and when asked how she felt, she said
she knew all along that she would win because she had prayed for it!
Through several personal struggles and health issues, Jeanie and her Husband
have not had reliable transportation for some time, so the Big Ole Truck came at
a perfect time!

Here, Jeanie shows us her "Good Luck
Charm"
Jeanie
chose the 2005 Nissan Titan from Cookeville Nissan. She settles into her
new ride...then it must have hit her...
I
JUST WON A NEW TRUCK!
Here,
the WOW COUNTRY Crew hangs with Jeanie and her new truck.
Now
comes the best part of the whole day...loading up in the back of the Big Ole
Truck for a ride around town to show off the new toy! Thanks to all of our
sponsors for a fantastic contest and the City Of Crossville for a great
weekend! And Congratulations Jeanie Whittenburg on winning our 2005 BIG
OLE TRUCK!
