THE
HOUSE OF HOPE
102.5 WOW Country Is
Proud To Be Involved With Cumberland County's House Of
Hope! The Meth problem in our County is so bad, NBC
even did a News Story about how our police force is doing
such a great job at cracking down on it! Several
years ago, the beginning steps were taken on a dream
called "The House of Hope". This dream of
Cumberland County Sheriff Butch Burgess and so many
others, is now a reality! Papers were signed in June
to acquire the home at 165 Bob Tollett Loop here in
Crossville. This will be a place that the
authorities can take children removed from meth houses or
abusive situations. It is truly a blessing!
The children had been having to stay at the jail in a
worst case scenario. Now, the children have a
pleasant, safe haven from the chaos of their prior
dangerous surroundings.
Here, the papers are
being signed by Larry Henson and Mike Steinman at First
National Bank Of The Cumberlands. The owners of
the property are glad to be able to help such a worthy
cause! Seated from right are: Charlie Witt,
Tony King, Mark Witt, Larry Henson, & Mike Steinman.
To Celebrate the
event, the General Lee from The Dukes Of Hazzard was in
town.
Afternoon Host Josh
Brandon and the News Department's Andy Vaughn took turns
behind the wheel. Lucky fellas. They just
couldn't agree on who got to be Luke Duke!
After taking a slide
across the hood, Josh is content to ride
"shotgun". That's what a good wax job will
get you.
The House Of Hope is
one of beauty. It will serve it's purpose nicely and
the people of Cumberland County should feel proud.
This is the first like it in the state. Hopefully,
many will follow!
Here, Mike Steinman
and Sheriff Butch Burgess are happy to take some generous
donations and the keys to the House Of
Hope.

Here, Mike Steinman
with the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department holds a
plaque that will hang in The House Of
Hope. It
reads: "Tell the kids I love them.
-God". A fitting motto for The House Of Hope!
